The evenings come quickly these days. The sun runs off too urgently in the winter. Yet it leaves me with excuse to snuggle up in doors and read, watch movies, and catch up on my music listening. I've purchased so many amazing albums lately. Whether in the car, on my computer, or even at work I'm playing music or humming along with the jukebox in my head. As my crazy weeks are becoming a unpleasant memory, I'm starting to have a life again! With more time to work out, read, and just sit quietly have been a few very missed pleasures these last few months. I'm taking a vacation in a few weeks, and I couldn't be more ready! I'm planning on following some of my favorite bands around the Midwest at the end of November and I can't think of a better way to spend my time off! Epica, Scar Symmetry, and Blackguard are all special bands to me and they're all on the same show! This month is looking up!

Two Albums I'd like to mention is Harmony's Chapter 2: Aftermath and Blind Guardian's At the Edge of Time.

Harmony is a band I've had my ears on for a while. Though they're pretty inactivate their music is brilliant. Hailing from Sweden, they label themselves as a Christian progressive metal band. With clear memorizing melodic vocals, captivating lyrics, and a strong down beat with killer riffs I highly recommend them! They're under one of my favorite labels, Ulterium Records, who host some of the best Christian metal bands out there. So glad I finally got this album, it's very powerful in the way they carry they're heavy sound with the angelic vocals. I feel encouraged listening to good white metal!

So Blind Guardian has been around for years and they are a dear metal classic! At the Edge of Time carries on the legend of their epic power metal sound. I am a big fan of their drummer, Frederik Ehmke, for he's in another amazing band called Sinbreed. So the best word to use for their latest album is epic! With such powerful orchestral arrangements on several of the numbers gives a very bombastic flavor for the whole album. Even so, there is a great variety with brilliant folk melodies, slow melodic parts where Hansi's vocals shine, and even their classic medieval sound makes an appearance. It's a beautifully constructed piece of work filled with such solid musicianship. As one of Germany's best power metal bands these gentlemen never disappoint!

I think I've shared enough goodies for now. Enjoy this fine evening dear ones. Till next time!
